Last week my I took my father (62yrs) to the Hospital because he said he had the "flu" and being diabetic the doctor said I should take him to the ER for an IV because he was probably dehydrated. When we got there they did a ekg and found he was having a heart attack. They did a chest Xray to find the blockage and thought he had a separated Aorta. After he was rushed to CAT the ER doc came in and said he had two blocked art. and the mass they saw was cancer and that it had spread to his other lung and lymphs.
They put in a stent and the next day a lung spec. came in and went over the tests with my brother and I. Just based on what he can see on the CAT he gave Dad 4 months if he does nothing. They cannot do a MRI for 8 weeks because of the stent and the Broncoscopi(?) isn't sched until the 23rd.
I don't know what to do. I have pushed the doctors and they seem to think that doing the tests today or 3 weeks from now it is not going to be any different. Well if he has only about 4 months....come on!!!
Can someone give me some insight?
