First of all I would go to the salon and get a good trim. As far as a good shampoo for your dry damaged hair get a good one from the salon ask the stylist what she would recomend. You may also want to try some hot oil treatments once a week those do help smooth the hair cuticle. Lay off the chemicals for now if you must have your hair straightened get it done by a professional.

Hi there...
I have naturally (very) curly hair and blow dry and use a straightener on my hair almost every day.
First, you should go to a salon and get a deep conditioner treatment done, and continue to get them done about every 3 months if you continue to straighten your hair. Usually deep conditioner treatments are fairly inexpensive. While your there, get a trim. The combination will get your hair to healthy start.
Second, before you even put a flat iron to your hair, it needs to be protected!! I use Tresemme Instant Heat Tamer. You can find it anywhere and it's very inexpensive.
Third, use a deep conditioner shampoo and conditioner. I use Pantene Relaxed and Natural. It's made for women of color (which I'm not) but I find it is the only solution that keeps my hair hydrated. On some hair types this kind of shampoo/conditioner might weigh your hair down and leave it greasy...I would suggest just putting it on the ends of your hair at first (since that is the dryest part of your hair.)
Hope that I was of some help!! Just make sure to keep your hair protected and treat it to a day at the salon once in a while!!! Good luck!

i would recommend joico k-pak shampoo, conditioner and the reconstructor. that saved my hair when it was badly damanged from chemical and heat styling.

I wouldn't use a hot oil treatment... I have very curly, frizzy hair that has been very hard to tame... and I've learned over the years that the hot oil treatments actually can cause more damage... not highly recommended for curly/frizzy hair.
I asked my stylist to recommend a good deep condioner for my hair type, and I have also used the joico k-pak products and found them really good. Ask your stylist, they usually know whats best. And as previously stated, a good trim goes a long way.

I agree that you should go to a reputable hair salon and have them deep condition you hair and trim it.
I just had my hair done with the Japanese straightening, and I love it so much. I really wanted something low maintenace, as I have long hair. Now, I wash my hair, and I don't have to blow dry it or straighten it, and it looks great! The stylist did give me a deep conditioning treatment and trip following the procedure and told me to return before the end of the year to have another deep conditioning treatment and trim.
