has anyone used these before? Do they really help keep the eyes moist at night while sleeping? How often do you need to change the foam that are linning the eye peice?

I purchased them and only used them once as when I woke up in the morning my eyes were worse then they were normal - which was pretty bad. I am now too scared to try them again.

Maybe someone else has had some better experiences with these goggles?

I have it. I use it only when it is very dry and the heat is on. It is comfortable, but very flimsy. It's a novel idea, but I find that the moisture pads on the inside could be a bit thicker (they don't really stay in contact with my eyes, which is what I want, so I could sleep with something cold and wet on my eyes. They kinda just sit right *over* your eyes, not *on* them.) The foam and pads need to be changed every few months, I think. I wore mine for quite a long time before I changed it. The instructions will tell you for sure. You also have to wash the moisture pads that go in the inside with baby shampoo every day and wrinse them really well.

I am not raving about it, but I think it is pretty good. I do think that the nose piece is a little too wide, but you can get a different size if the one it comes with is too big or small. I really like the idea, but for me it just doesn't fit as well as I would like it to. I use it from time to time when my eyes are especially dry, like tonight, to kinda give them a little extra boost of moisture. I use a lot of eye ointments, and it does fine with that.

Part of the problem for me is that I am not used to sleeping with anything on my face, so I would put it on at night before bed, and wake up in the morning only to find it thrown across the room! Once I scared myself - I put it on at night and woke up in the morning and found it neatly put back in its case! I must have gotten out of bed in my sleep, taken it off, and put it away! Part of the reason I bought it is that I wanted to be able to sleep with the ceiling fan on during the hot summer months, so I needed something to protect my eyes from the dryness so I wouldn't wake up with a corneal abrasion or worse. But the thing is, if I can't trust myself to keep it on during the night, then what good is it? LOL!

Thanks to both of you for your opinions! I have a small face for a 28 yr old woman I can only pick eye glass frames from the childrens section so they will fit my face. So hearing what Purple said about them not fitting well makes me not want to pay the $39 to purchase them.

Purple - you made me lol with the part about you waking up to find them neatly in their case.

I have a set of these moisture goggles too. I ordered them a month or so ago, but I've only used them a few nights. I have a very small face also, but I can wear them. I have to tighten the strap pretty tight though or they will move around on my face when I'm sleeping. They don't seem to work that well for me because the moisture pads don't really seem to moisten my eyes. I guess b/c they don't sit flush against the eyelids.

What I've used for the last few nights is just a regular eye mask that I bought at Wal-Mart in the eye drop section. It is just a regular nylon? black mask that fits over the eyes. So far I really like it. I use an ointment in my eyes though and so when I wake up the mask is usually kind of stuck to my face b/c the extra ointment. I think that it actually seals in some moisture. I'm trying it b/c I want to find something that will protect my eyes from the heat being on this winter.
