Well, I've been taking the Percocet. I've only had it 2 days, but I want ya'll to know...so far so ...great! I slept!! Really slept. I can't say I woke up full of energy but I didn't wake up wanting to go right back to bed and even though it wound up bing a little after midnight when I got to bed, I was up by 7:30 this morning. Yesterday in the car with the radio on I actually felt emotionall anyway, like dancing! I don't remember the last time I felt like that.
I was fairly sure it would help the pain pretty good but never thought about it helping the pain so much that I could have such good sleep. I am amazed.
No the scared part. I wonder how long it will last. I mean, I think with chronic pain isn't it that pain pills usually help a while then your body gets used to them and quit working? Vicodin hasn't really ever done a whole lot, but enough to help until I guess a few weeks ago, first time I used Flexeril it knocked me on my butt. But not in a while. The Percocet doesn't even knock me loopy but it sure is helping the pain. Oh, I hope it'll work at least a few years.
Yesterday I went out of town with a friend, the president of our victim's support group to get stuff done for our Tree of Angels. Since I would be driving I took the vicodin, I can take it and drive all day and it does at least tone the pain down a couple notches. Then I took a percocet before bed. Is that ok? I mean is it safe, vicodin during the day, like if I'll be driving and percocet at night? Being that the Percocet hasn't knocked me out yet, does that mean it just won't at all? I don't want it's strength to up and surprise me while I'm trying to do something while I've been thinking it won't knock me.
What kinds of experience do ya'll have with it?
Will keep ya'll posted on how the percocet does me.
April

I have taken percocet for vasculitis pain for over 5 years and it is still effective. I started out on a low dose and am now taking 10/650's.
I have never had any side effects at all (guess I'm just "lucky.")

Hi April: If it works, don't worry, take it. I have been on both of those meds. For some reason narcotics do not help me. Well, maybe for a couple of weeks. I respond more to anti-depressants and muscle relaxants. I am presently on three anti-depressants and two different muscles relaxants. I have mixed pain killers. I am doing it right now just to konk me out at night so I can get some sleep. Had a great day with the Milnacipran it is finally kicking back in. I was taking lots of fibre in the morning and flushing the med out of my system. Drs don't tell you that. I do not know where you live but apparently Cymbalta is good for fibro along the same lines as Milnacipran. I don't drive because I am on quite a few meds and don't trust my concentration. I don't want to go out there and kill anyone. When this drug kicks in fully, and it will, I can reduce all my meds. I am very happy about that. Good luck April. Get back to me and let me know how you are doing.
