A month ago I posted about all the tests my optometrist was doing, after 3 visits they did not know if I had glaucoma. I had pressure of 14 but the field vision test was not good. They proceeded to tell me to keep coming back to do these tests every couple of months. But said everything else looked fine. I had my file forwarded to a opthamologist to see what the heck was going on. She did the pressure test, a 16 which is good, the field vision was good but did show something. The eye dialation looked behind eye - all looked good.
Well she said NO GLAUCOMA! What I have is called Drusen, the kind that you have since birth. At 40 yrs old & just find this out now. :o She said you can clearly see the crystal like spots (drusen) when you look into my eye with bright light. Drusen will make the results of the field vision test off so that explains it. There is no cure for it & she said it is not affecting my vision & does not think it ever will. Should stay the same. Well now I am relieved, I will be seeing a opthamologist from now on.
