I have had for several years a very sensitive molar. Back in April, the dentist filled it, exposing much of the root for the filling...said there was a deep hole inside. Since then, I've had a sore gum at the base of this tooth. I get episodes where I have pain in my jaw, ear, neck and can't bite on this molar. This tooth is in the lower jaw, but sometimes the pain extends into my upper jaw. Could the pulp be damaged giving me this kind of pain?

I am not sure what kind of tooth problem you have but I do know that a tooth that hurts in lower jaw can cause pain in upper jaw called refered pain and also can make ear and neck pain too cause mine did....
