Hi All
This may seem a silly question to some of you, but I have been told that I have got to have a tooth removed and a bridge put in its place....what is it exactly?? can anyone help?

Hi sam
A bridge is where the dentist grinds down the 2 teeth either side of the gap (these need to support the bridge) and then cements a 3 tooth bridge (normally porcelain)over the teeth and gap . of course there is a lot more to it than this and you will have to have impressions taken etc to ensure a perfect fit. i am not to keen on the idea myself due to the grinding down of the abutment teeth but my partner has had 2 for the past 8 years without any problems at all.Another option is an implant but these are very pricey .It is probably best for you to discuss it with your dentist and find the best option for you.
