Hi. My gyno told me I have cysts on my left ovary. It's quite painful but she's not concerned and gave me 800mg motrin. Now I've been running a fever off and on for roughly two weeks. Again, not concerned.. said probably just a virus. Now I have EXTREME stabbing shooting pains on my left side from my ovary to my back. Constant ache in left side of lower abdomen. Spotting at unusual time and I'm not on birth control. Should I get another doc to check me out? She said the pain would go away but we discovered this three weeks ago. I'm going in for an IUD since I don't want another baby (he's 18 mths) and Im worried that i might actually have a problem here but she just doesn't seem concerned. What should I do? Anyone have an experience like this? It's starting to freak me out a bit.

Hi Kanga,
Have you had a vaginal ultrasound? That can help diagnose you. Have you had a CA125 blood test, that also is a tool to help the dr. figure out what is wrong. Ask you dr. about them. If you have not have those to tests.
You need to find out how big your cysts are and if they are dense or filled with liquid.
Keep referencing and asking questions. Take care and come back and talk some more.
