Everytime I drink something cold my teeth sting really bad! Do I need a root canal? I havent gone to the dentist in 2 years because I couldnt afford it but I'm going in the beginning of December to finally have my teeth checked. I definitely have some major cavities because the teeth with fillings in them have a slight blueish hue to them. I'm really afraid of root canals, not because of the procedure but because of the potential health risks, which I'm wondering if its true or not. I was doings some reading about the potential dangers from the filled roots. I'm just really paranoid right now.

Try using a toothpaste such as Sensodyne and using a flouride rinse. They can help. Can't tell if you need root canal. The health risks are worse if you need the root canal and wait. Many people have sensitive teeth. Good Luck.
