Hello fellow IBSers
Since I have found no relief and have heard that IBS can be a write-off diagnosis when nothing else is found, I have been searching for other options to what may be causing my constant pain. So here's my question: has anyone found any connection between the symptoms of IBS and the symptoms of endometriosis? Any information would be appreciated. :)

Hi Shayla,
I was diagnosed last summer with Endometriosis. I was given the run around for over a year before getting diagnosed. I do have IBS, but it has a connection with Endo. Endo suffers often have IBS. Because the Endo grows on the colon and other organs, not just the uterus. I new I had Endo and after doctor apt after doctor apt I finally got diagnosed. Doctors almost 99.9% of the time blame IBS on symptoms that also turn out to be Endo. What are your symptoms?

Hi Fairymagick, thank you for replying. I have constant 24/7 abdominal pain, right in the center, and it never goes away. It's a dull crampy ache. It gets excruciating before and after I have diarreah. I also have very bad cramps when I am on my period. I've heard that people with endo have very painful periods. However, once in a while I have a period that is not so painful, and the cramps are not so bad. The abdominal pain is always there though, which makes me doubt that it is IBS since it doesn't seem normal for have constant pain. What are your symptoms like, and how did you find out you had endo?
Thank you very much

Shayla

Hi there,
as im writing this my stomach feels like its gonna pop, ive just had major diarrhea and my stomach feels like ive done a 100 sit-ups.
Guess what my period is due!
I have ibs and endo. I find that the week before my period my ibs goes haywire.
Mines not so much a constant pain but a soreness and i feel i have to keep my hand on my tummy most of the time (yes i do look odd walkin round with my hand in my pants all the time).
My doc said that i have endo attached to my bowel, which obvioulsy agravates it when my period is due/happening.
I wish i could go on ebay and get myself a new stomach.
