This is the cause of most of my body issues. Since the age of 12 i have developed many stretch marks across my abdomen, down my arms, my hips, on my knees and behind my knees. They are now a whitish colour and i have read you can't do anything about this. I am 16 and there are no signs of fading, and i am developing more. It gets me down every day as i can't wear the clothes kids my age do and if there is ANY possible help i'd greatly appreciate it.

Hun I am as far as I know there is nothing that can be done about them, I have heard though that Vitimin E helps more than anything else would. Stretch marks occur when the skin stretchs such as with sudden weight loss or gain and once the skin is damaged there is little that can be done to fix it. I am much 36 and after 4 babies I know I have my share of them, my mom had 3 children and never had the first stretch mark, granny had 7 children and no stretch marks LOL i guess Life saved them all up for me..

Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do to get rid of them. Stretchmarks are just like any other scar. Have you ever gotten rid of any your other scars? No, of course not. The best you can do now is avoid getting any more by eating healthy and not letting your weight fluctuate.

Hi Sonia,

There is really nothing that can be done about stretch marks but the good news is that they will fade. When I was 12 I developed stretch marks on my hips and inner thighs. At first the ones on my inner thighs were very red then they faded to a white color after about a year or so. I remember how much a I hated them and they bothered me so much but it is just a part of growing. I am 27 now and they are hardly noticable. Most young girls develope them. You could try using a coco butter stick that may help I used that when I was younger.

Palmer's Cocoa Butter makes a lotion for preventing and fading stretchmarks. I haven't tried it yet but it may help! Also heard that fake tan can reduce the appearance of stretch marks (temporarily of course).
