Accident, Crown and now lock jaw???? [Archive]

I previously wrote that I had been in a car accident and it ended up that I had cracked a molar in half and needed a crown. I have a temporary crown that I got about a month after the accident (1 week ago). Now, 2 Days ago, I started getting lock jaw and so far tylenol has helped. Is this related??? My left ear feels sort of clogged but, not terribly? I felt the left ear problem weeks ago but, I thought it was sinuses and now I see that the pain definitely radiates from the ear to the jaw.
I am 7 months pregnant and I am on antibiotics(last day out of 10) as I thought I was getting an ear infection due to sinuses but the clogged ear didn't go away??? Anyone have any clue???? Thanks!

sounds like TMJD which is common after an accident and may (lets hope) get better with time. I'd Have an MD check it out.

Thanks. Someone else just suggested the same thing. My GP doesn't want to give me a referral to see a specialist as she believes it will go away. I can't stand the feeling that my ear is under water. My neck has also been bothering me alot more especially when it rains.

My TMJD stared when I was about as far along as you in my pregnancy. Please get a referral. The otolarynologist really helped explain things and cleaned out my ears with this little vacuum like thing. (sorry no name)
