I just had my bottom wisdom teeth extracted today. I was orgionally supposed to have IV sedation. The oral surgeon stuck me with the IV 7 times before he gave up. He said I could either come back or I could have gas and locals. Well I went with that option because my teeth have been bothering me for a long time. He started the gas then started injecting the locals. As soon as he gave me the third shot on my bottom left side, my heart started pounding and I could feel it skip beats, and I also had a hard time breathing and also started shaking uncontrollably. I was really scared. I heard the doctor say "O-****" and lowered the chair back and then said to cut the gas and start giving me oxygen. After a few minuets my heart rate went to normal and he proceded with the nitrus(sp) and started pulling teeth. The whole thing really scared me, not to mention being aware of the cracking and cutting that was going on. My mouth hurts really bad. I had a really bad experience, and I would never wish on anybody.

My hears skipped a little too when they gave me the gas. He just waited a little bit before locals, (checked my pulse) and away we went.
I hated the sound too! But overall my experience was far better than anything I was expecting.
I hope you start feeling better soon. Keep us posted.

Hi, its me again. I went back to the oral surgeon's office today, becuse of two dry sockets. I was really grateful, his office office was closed today, but he met me at the office at 3 pm and packed sockets for me. I woke up around 3 am this morning and couldn't sleep, it felt like I had really bad ear aches, plus the throbing pain. Anyway he packed the sockets and I feel much better, another thing he didn't even charge me for packing my sockets http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif
Yesterday afternoon his office called and appoligized for what they put me through Monday. They said the doctor felt bad all day long for not being able to get a vein. Any how, after the stess of the last couple of days, I'm so glad its over. Thank you for your thoughts and concerns, It was greatly appreicated.
