Hi all
I have been told I cannot have a bone scan because of recent teeth extractions (5 weeks) and would have to wait 6 months does anyone know if this is true?
Since having the teeth removed I have had 3 courses of antiobiotics and my doctor has recorded a spiking white count between 7 and 16 but says its only borderline. I am in pain and now feeling quite unwell.
I really strongly suspect osteomyelitis as I have had almost a life long problem with my teeth.

That makes sence, I had a bone scan done about 5 weeks after an extraction and they could not tell if it was infection or trama and so then they had to do a MRI and blood test.

Hi sher
Do you know what blood tests they did?
Were they special tests aimed at specifically pinning down a particular type of infection?

Sorry I can not remember the names of the blood test but they did test for 4 different types of infection.
