View Full Version : My husbands PET scan results

 Well I am happy to announce that my hubby's
PET scan results were great :bouncing:
It does show the large primary tumor on his right lung is scar tissue,it also shows two 7MM tumors in the right lymph nodes,on the scale that they measure these tumors scored a 3.3 which our Onco explained to us that normally these would not require treatment, but would require him to keep a rather close eye on them!!
The Onco is also a little worried about my hubby having "tics" in his face particular by his eyes,he has ordered an MRI for his brain to R/O mets to the area,he believes my husband might be having small seizures, althought the PET scan did not reveal any abnormalties the Onco said a PET scan is not a good indicator of tumors in the brain as it concentrates more on the areas below the neck!!
It seems with this disease even the littlest things create a panic,so now we worry about this MRI and it's findings!!
Oh Lord give us strength!!!

God Bless all who post here

Karen, glad to hear his news was good. I know it's hard not to worry about the other test. Especially when the problem seems so unexplained and uncharacteristic The tics might not be related at all to the mets though, as they thought the same about Bud and all if his dizzy spells and headaches. The MRI's are every 3 months and so far so good. I will keep you close to my heart and pray for you. Keep looking up.
Take care,
Jan

I am very sad to hear about the outcome of your husband's MRI. How much radiation does he have to go thru? My husband has sclc and has lots (about 2 months ago he had about 12 mets), but is so apprehensive about whole brain radiation. Do they think they cannot stop the mets to the brain is that why they said 6 months? I will add you and your husband to my prayers.

Oh my goodness Karen, I am so sorry. God keep you both. You and I will be walking the path together, my hubby started coughing up blood about a month ago and kept it from me. I keep hoping, praying for the Tarceva to kick in......my brain tells me otherwise. Always was a science nut, now I wish I wasn't.......Take care of yourself Karen. I will so keep you close to my heart.

Thanks so much to all who have responded!!
Yes this is bad it is very bad and when we recieved this news it was like being run over by a truck!!
My husband knows that he will be in for the fight of his life (literally) and he chooses not to give in to this cancer but fight with every last breath!!
They have started whole brain radiation as of monday, and he will have 15 treatments!!
He has been having small seizures and has been put on drugs to maintain him so he can be seizure free as well as a steroid to decrease the swelling in his brain!!
As long as he is willing and able to fight I will standing beside him fighting as well!!
It was just such a shock to hear this news as he responded so very well to the intial treatments for the tumor in his lung!
I will continue to pray for each and every person who posts to this board as well as pray that one day cancer will be eradicated from the face of this earth!!
God Bless all

God bless you are who are dealing with these issues. I hate it when a doctor gives a person time length on his life. the good Lord is the only one who can do that!! Prayer heals...let's all pray that these doctors are wrong and heals each and everyone of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
