Every since I was young, I've had dark circles or "bags" under my eyes, no matter how much sleep I get  I put concealer on every day before school and between periods sometimes. Its soooo annoying!! In the morning it takes me 20 mins to put this stuff on and I'm getting so sick of it...for five years I've been doing this!!
I have no idea why they are there!! I have a deviated septum (spelling?) and I thought that was the reason why, but my aunt who has the same issue got her septum corrected and still has them just as badly. She's getting a laser treatment done to get them removed (its a new thing...kind of experimental), and if it works for her, my mom said she'd cough up the $1000 to get it done for me.
Do you guys know of any other possible reasons why theyre there and of any treatments? :)

If I remember correctly, there are 3 main causes of dark circles.
1. hyperpigmentation of the skin (darker skin than the rest of your face) and a lightening cream is needed, and getting more sleep usually helps.
2. Sunken-in undereyes creating a shadow (This is what I have) For this there is not much you can do besides concealer. Some people swear that drinking lots of water helps get rid of them, I have seen this work for me but I can never stick with it.
3. Veins under the eyes causing them to look darker. For this I think you need to see a Derm.
Hope that helps. :)

I get dark circles too. Someone told me to dabbing preparation-H under my eyes (I know it's a bit weird) ... but it helps shrink the blood vessels that make the dark circles. I guess this wouldn't work if the circles are because of the deep set eye issue Willow was talking about though.

i also have dark circles but from another cause.. the blood vessels under my eyes were damaged from chronic rubbing from past allergies and now i can see little strands of blood leaking out of the blood vessels in the inner corners of my eyes which makes a dark pigment.. vitamin k helps but i noticed that when i actually get 8-9 hours of sleep they do look better

I have dark circles too - mine are because I have very fair skin and it's thinner there so you can see the blood vessels underneath. This is hereditary & sounds like it is for you too, since your aunt has it.
I don't see how they could make your skin thicker or not have blood vessels there, so I don't know if there's anything to be done about it. I would find a better concealer so you don't have to keep reapplying.

I read recently that a derm can give you a retinol product for under the eyes which actually thickens the skin. Make sure you ask a doc first though because you can't just put any old thing under your eyes.

I have terrible dark circles under my eyes. I've been to several plastic surgeons, and they said they may be able to soften them, but they didn't sound promising at all. Plus it was expensive, I would pay if I could get rid of them. I hate them soooo much.
I still don't understand why someone can't laser them, or lighten them. It is just awful. People ask me if I'm tired when I'm not. I just look soooo tired.
