I hope someone can help me. I have breast implants and my doctor found a lump in my breast that is questionable. I am having a mammography and a sonogram done in a couple of days. The thing is I am so afraid that the implant will break. Can anyone give me any advice for things to be careful of during the procedure for the mammogram? Thanks.

When I go, they alway ask if you have implants, so I guess they have some special precautions for women who do. The pressure is really not that much worse than a firm squeeze, so I would imagine the implants are sturdier than that.

There's nothing for you to do. They use a person who can PUSH THE IMPLANTS UP out of the way then they mammogram the remaining breast beneath.
I've never had one; I just read this somewhere. Good Luck.

I had to have a mammogram, and i have breast implants. Really it didnt hurt and i cant believe it, cuz it really does smash your breasts pretty good. Im not sure if they did anything different, cuz i have implants. I did let them know though............... :)
