Maybe Lithium is helping me out a little bit but not enough. I recently started taking Lexapro and it was helping with my anxiety but my hands started to shake, restless leg, weight gain and of corse loss of labido.
I always feel so negative throughout the day and just very tired of taking meds that dont work. What do you suggest as far of known good meds, other help? Also what else is similar to bipolar?

Hi there

Sorry to hear that things are so bad for you at the mo. I think the big problem with meds is that they are so different for everybody that it's very hard to say what would suit. Some people find the older meds work with fewer side effects, whilst others favour the more modern ones. I personally found Lithium and Mirtazipine worked well together for me, although I did experience a significant weight gain and problems with drowsiness. I've found a combination of counselling and complementary therapy has worked for me, but it's been a six year slog. It's well worth keeping in mind, if only to counteract the side effects.

Hope that's some help to you.

Picali
