I have a white line on my ring finger on my left hand. I also have a small white spot on both my pinkie and my index finger. I have no idea where it came from, or how I can get rid of it.

Also, Marti- i seen you mentioned about the ridges on finger nails- what would cause my left hand to have ridges but not so much my right- especially when i am right handed?

The white spots I believe are calcium deposits (at least that is what I have been told in the past) I could be way off.

The white spots are called leuconychia and are usually from voids between the nail plate cells. They can appear at any given time, appear once and never again. there is no known reason why they appear in some people. My son has them from time to time, however I have never had them.

The ridges are more prominant on my left hand and I am right handed as well, so go figure.

I used to get white spots, about 1/16 in, on my nails, one time 4 on 6 different nails. I did some research and found that it is form a vitamin deficiency. I started taking Centrum and no longer have them. Hope that helps.
