Hi,

Today my father in law was talking to the lady that works with me, which is one of our employees, anyway she called and told him about the leukemia that her husband has.

Her husband is 75 years old and ended up in the hospital a little over a week ago, from feeling faint and his temperature wouldn't go down. About 2 weeks ago he had surgery on his rotor cuff. So they thought it had something to do with that but it wasn't, the doctor found out when they took blood that he has leukemia.

Well when his wife called today she was giving my FIL some information but really not enough to know too much of what is going on.

She told him that her husband, which is my FIL best friend, something about M2 and she really didn't go too much more into anything, then the nurse came in so she couldn't talk anymore.

I have been searching M2 up on the web along with leukemia and it is coming across as myeloblastic leukemia if that is anything to do with it, I don't know.

I would like to know more about this if anyone can tell me a little more.

Thanks,

Hope I'm sorry to hear about your father in-law. My mother died 7 weeks ago from Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) there is a few other names of this but basicly they are all the same.
My mother went to the doctor for a rash on her arm and the doctor told her that she had Cellulitus the nurse was going to send her home but the doctor sent she to the lab and he ordered some test after seeing the test he sent her to the hospital that same day then 2 days later we found out she had AML five day later she went home and 5 days later she died. A real shock to all of us.
Anyway there is treatment that may help. I know the doctor told us that there is a new trial drug that is being tested called Tipifarmib that sounds promising but seeing it's on a trial basics not everyone can be on it. My mother was too sick to be on cemo or any other treatment. My mother was in poor health for a long time and was 73 when she died.

I would check out www.lls.org it's for called The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society that can be really helpfull for more information.

I wish you and your family the best
