My back hurts most days and some days worse than others. I had an MRI about 3 yrs. and another 18 mo. ago. All both showed was disk dessication L4/5 and L5/S1. My regular dr. just said she had never heard of anyone having the feeling of bugs crawling down there buttocks and legs when they walked. I like to walk but I don't because of this weird feeling. It last about 15-20 min. and then it goes away. I was sent to a orthopeadic dr. and he said the only way to find the problem was a myleogram, but i've read that these are damaging to the disk and mine are already drying up.

Oddly enough the sensation you feel is called formication NOT fornication....lol I do know that menopausal women can get these sensations due to estrogen deficiency. Hope you aren't a guy cause if you are now that would be a problem....

I would suggest a second opinion from a orthopedic spine specialist. That feeling you describe could be coming from a lumbar problem...and needs to be investigated before it gets worse.

I have a similar feeling in my legs when I start to walk after either sitting or laying down. I always describe it as a feeling of rain hitting my legs and running down. My pm dr said that it is from nerve irritation.

I usually think of it as all of the muscles in my legs twitching every so slightly at totally random times. It really does feel weird, but has been happening to me for along time before I had really bad discs.
