Hi, my numbers before supper run 90-112, tonight when I just took my blood sugar reading it was 136, I thought it seemed a bit high for me so I took it again and it was 135. I have been pretty busy doing alot of physical activity (moving stuff around this afternoon.) I had a Burger King Garden salad (with chicken) for lunch(about 1 carb...I used my own carb free dressing so the only carb was on the breading of the chicken). I was wondering if the high could be for not eating enough (carbs?) for lunch combined with the extra activity driving it up or? Any suggestions? It is not that high I know and I usually have my numbers where my doctor wants them to be.

dont be concerned...not that high...and there are many other things besides carbs that will raise your sugar levels. Stress can have an effect....and believe it or not Protein and fat can affect them *** well......just not by very much.

Unless you had a low during the afternoon, which could have caused a rebound "high" (I used quotes because 136 is not really all that high), I don't know what would cause it to go up considering you were physically active and you had an extremely low carb lunch. Was your afternoon emotionally stressful?
Or maybe it's just one of those weird things that happen with D. I had a day like that once...blood sugars all over the place, from a high in the 250's to a low in the 60's (and I'm on a pump), while eating low carb all day and not doing anything unusual. When I told my doctor about this really weird day, his response was..."Diabetes IS a weird disease, so I guess that makes just about anything that happens with it pretty much normal." (He's got a very dry sense of humor.)

I had a busy afternoon trying to get a bunch of things done before supper(including making supper.) I wasn't upset about anything, just busy.
Thanks for the replies! :)
