Karen, I am so sorry for this crushing setback.
Please know that you and especially your husband are in my prayers.
I am relatively new to this board so I didn't know what type of lung cancer your husband has and how long he has had it.

Does lung cancer ALWAYS met to the brain? It just seems as though that is the case with so many people on this board.

My husband has SCLC,they started whole brain radiation today and his prognosis is poor with a six months survival rate!
I am just numb right now, this is such a shock when he was doing so good!!

I sure can relate to what you was thinking when they told you it metastisized to the brain.I just like you was saying I HATE this disease! As if small cell isnt bad enough now she has to deal with this.It was scary. My mom has small cell that metastisized to her brain back in June. She had one large tumor that was able to be removed. In July after she recovered from her surgery she started whole brain radiation. She had a total of 15 treatments. After the first week she was very tired. She slept alot, then she lost her hair(again). Her memory was also affected ,she would forget things we had talked about. She also complained of her ears popping.Well the upside to all of this is it was worth it because for now she has no active cancer. We got her mri results of her brain back today and everything looks great.(something to be so thankful for this Thanksgiving)
Her memory is alot better now,she will tell me I need to work on mine because I am the one whos forgetful.lol
As far as lasting effects my mom really has none, yeah shes a little forgetful but that comes with age anyways or atleast thats what mom says.Im just so thankful for everyday I have with her as I know you are with your husband.
