Not necessarily. Is the starring something new you've noticed? Or have you always had this? Any other symptoms? Pain, light sensitivity? Anything?
Have you ever had your eyes examined? Might be a good place to start.

HI Chrissy
Well, if this is a new thing you're seeing, it might be a good idea to have your eyes checked by the eye doctor again. May be nothing other than just the way your eyes refract light entering the eye. If it bothers you, I'd get it checked out...just to be on the safe side. I get it too, but have had lots of surgeries that left me with starring around lights. High eye pressure can cause halos around lights. So it's always best to have it checked.

ok thanks, so who do i visit my docotor or the optiticians??

What is the name then when you look at screens and candles and stuff where lines and halos surround them. It is really scary i keep thinking its a brain tumour!

Hi Chrissy,
Well Not sure on your health insurance situation, but my personal preference would by an opthalmologist. But a good optometrist should be able to do a good exam with some routine vision assessment for pressure, color perception, visual field, etc.
Just tell them exactly what you are seeing. (Sometimes, I've drawn a picture or even drawn on a photo of what I am seeing, to give them an idea of what I see.)
I wouldn't worry about it being a brain tumor. The odds of anything that serious causing the problem would probably cause other symptoms as well.
Eyes tend to go thru changes, so minor visual things which weren't always there can sometimes occur.
Good Luck and let me know how you make out.

Chrissy, you don't say what your glasses were for, or how strong they are. Astigmatism can cause that problem and moderate to severe myopia definitely. Some of the dry eye people on here see the starbursts also, so there are a variety of reasons for them.
