It hurts when I urinate, (around the clitoris)like a strained sort of feeling, and it feels like I have to urinate constantly, there is a little burning sensation, but not a lot...I know it is not an STD, I'm not sexually active, so what does this sound like to you? it also hurts in my lower sides as well...it's not agonizing, just very uncomfortable....

The pain just started today without warning...My urine is cloudy, and this morning before the pain started it had a really strong ammonia smell to it. I have never had any trouble with this kind of stuff before, can anyone help...I'm worried...oh and the doctor doesn't have to actually exame the vagina does he? I'm very uncomfortable with that...so I hope not...Please help...I'm worried
....there are alson slight traces of blood in urine, it's a little orangeish, an there is some red bleed on the TP...I know this is a ver graphic description, but I'm very worried about it....sorry to those who may be offended

Hi...it could be an infection or a kidney stone. You need to go to your doc and have them run some tests on a urine sample. The doc shouldn't have to do a pelvic exam on you for these symptoms, especially if you are not sexually active. Just get to your doc ASAP, ok?? This needs further follow up. I hope this has helped. Feel free to ask any questions, ok??

is there anything I can do to help it a little bit at home...I just took my dad to the hospital with breathing complications, and I don't know when I will be able to see the Doc...anything I can do to sort of flush it out a bit or anything to make it not hurt so bad...since I last posted about it, the pain has gotten pretty intense...thanks for the reply!

It depends on what's wrong. If it's a kidney stone, you will need to be seen in the ER and at the very least be given I.V. fluids, pain medication, antibiotics, and CAT Scanned to see if there is a blockage in your urinary tract. If it's an infection, then you will need antibiotics. Either way, you need to be checked out. My advice would be to go back to the hospital and check into the ER since the pain has progressively worsened. I have a LONG history of kidney stones and if that is what is wrong, the pain will only get worse, followed by nausea and vomiting. Read my post "newbie here---but Extremely familiar with kidney stones"....It's on this page, towards the bottom.
There is something you can buy over the counter called AZO standard. It will help with the burning sensation, but that's all. It will also make your urine an orange color, so don't be alarmed by this. Please, just go to the ER, ok?? They will tell you what's wrong and make you feel better. Please keep me updated, ok?? Good luck and I hope you feel better.

I was wondering if you every found out what was wrong because the symptoms you described here are EXACTLY like the ones I have.
