For the past 10 years i was getting numb with novacaine. then i started having an anxiety attack or feeling of a "rush" go thru my body so my dentist switched me to carbocaine cause it doesnt have epinephrine. Well that was doing ok but the last few visits i feel the symptoms return again this time not as bad. When i go see other dental professionals (i.e. oral surgeon etc.) i dont have the sypmtomology as i do with my regular dentist. My reg. dentist swears the carbocaine has no epy in it. Do you think its the way she injects it is wht i have the symptoms again ? I need help here please cause i have alot of dental work needed to be done. Are there alternatives to numbing agents or is there a numbing agent that is best....please help...thanks

While I don't know anything about carbocaine, there is a new lidocaine patch on the market that is supposed to be very effective for general dental work, you might want to ask your dentist if it's appropriate for you to try.
