Well, my problem is chapped/peeling lips.
I've always had this problem, especially with the weather changes and all. In the summer I can usually control my lips with some Chapstick or Blistex or something.
Now that it's winter my lips have totally gone crazy. They constantly peel to the point where they bleed and it really hurts.
I've tried Chapstick, different kinds of Blistex, Neosporin Lip Treatment (which worked for a while but doesn't anymore for some reason), Neutrogena Norwegian Formula cream for super dry skin (also used to work well), and even Abreva - the cold sore medicine that worls extremely well on coldsores..but it doesn't seem to be doing much for my cracked lips.
I thought maybe I just need to take more vitamins or something..but that doesn't really help.
I don't know what else to try since nothing works, especially since I tend to pick at my lips all the time and make them worse...bad habit, I know.
Any suggestions on something else I can try that will hopefully heal them quicker?
Thanks!

Thanks. I've used pertroleum jelly on skin sometimes, sparingly of course because it is pretty sticky. It's great I love it. I gotta get more.
It probably does improve skin a lot. I know my mom has used cremes similar to patroleum jelly practically all her life and she has great skin for someone her age.

I have tried almost every product possible, and hands down, the absolute best for lips is Aquaphor. It's a petroleum jelly base, only with added moisturizers and moisture-binding agents (which hold the moisture in your skin) such as lanolin, glycerin, etc. You can get it at any drugstore, it's no frills, and it's really the best there is.

Petroleum jelly on skin? Overnight use? And this helps with acne? I get three or four obvious pimples a month. Would this jelly help?

It is best to stay hydrated, even in the winter. Also, every night before bed I put on Nighttime Balm by Victorias Secret. It comes in a small round tin and I also use it throughout the day if needed. Usually I try to keep a lip gloss on also by Victorias Secret because it stays on and lasts. I think it is a matter of drinking water and keeping on top of your lips with products that stay on. Hope this helps you. :)

My youngest son used to have really bad chapped and cracked lips, especially in winter. We tried a Vitamin E stick, Burt's Bee, or CEBigalow. All under $8, don't know which one actually helped, but he is kissable now. He also uses regular old Carmex he keeps in his locker. Good luck.

HI,
Use a dry clean toothbrush and brush your lips. Do not wet your lips beforehand.
The dead skin should come right off. Then apply lip conditioner. This really works!

Vaseline has a product for lips, same thing but just in a lip friendly tube. I find the best thing like someone above said is to always keep something on my li[s. The second I can't feel any lip product I put more on. Also try to stay away from some lipglosses because they can dry, especially ones with shimmer.
