I was wondering if the eye doctor can tell if retinopathy is specifically from solar exposure?

That's a tough question for us non-doctors to answer. Are you talking about being exposed to bright sunlight for a long period of time (living in Australia, eg.), or a one-time, staring at the sun exposure?

A few exposures of like 30 minutes...

Not staring at the sun for 30 minutes surely?

I believe direct solar damage to the retina would be evident to an eye doctor at the time. After the retina heals, I don't know if the cause of the damage would be obvious--that's way beyond my limited knowledge.

Would you care to give us more details? I'm always interested in cases of retinopathy.
