Hi, I have had to retain a lawyer to get me the medical help that the WC doc and neurologist he sent me to say I need. Apparently WC has decided not to talk with me or authorize anything. Is there anyone else with experience dealing with WC in general or in particular in South Carolina? I had a knee injury at work 7 years ago and had no problems. This time I am worried that my injuries are going to lead to total disability if not treated soon, and correctly. I am going in tomorrow to be referred to all the docs I need on my own insu. since it will expire in Dec. The school district I work for has basically said pay your own insurance or go without. Kind of hard to do with no paycheck, benefits, or assistance. I am a single parent, so things are tight anyway to begin with. My lawyer says best case scenario I might see backpay by Christmas or be in court in 5 months. WOW! How do you survive on nothing for 5 months???????? God provides, but I sure could use some suggestions or direction at this point from people that are going through this or have managed to succeed working through their own WC dealings. Thanks!!
