Hey, I was wondering...is there a certain way that your supposed to breath while lifting weights. I heard that if you dont breath right, then you will get hemroids or something...is that true?

That's not exactly true, but it's a possibility. It's not so much breathing wrong that causes problems as holding your breath. That's called the valsalva maneuver and it is a problem because it causes blood vessles to constrict, particularly in the abdomen and thorax and the resulting elevated blood pressure over time *may* cause issues like hemorrhoids. But here is a breathing pattern that helps continuous breathing. Exhale on the concentric contraction and inhale on the eccentric (ex. for a bicep curl, exhale as you bring the weight up and inhale as you bring it back down). Mostly this is just to keep you from holding your breath and that trying to inhale while straining is rather difficult. If you can just breathe naturally, that's fine too. Just avoid holding your breath for long periods while straining against the weight.

The biggest danger of not breathing correctly is fainting, which could happen during heavy squats for example. Breathing becomes more important the bigger the muscle and the heavier the weight. You'll find after training for a while breathing will become natural to you and you won't even have to think about it.
