I am 5 months post partum, and am not breastfeeding, but have been having strange breast symptoms for a week now. My milk has pretty much dried up. I am having breast pain and soreness, and I have a tingling feeling in them. It's really bothersome at times, and uncomfortable. I am pretty sure I am not pregnant since I had my tubes tied. I have had 3 periods since my baby was born, and never have I felt like this before. It feels like last year when I found out I was pregnant, that's the only thing I can compare it to. Any idea's on why this is happening, or what I should do? I am really at a loss here.

Well, in my opinion, having a baby totally screws with your hormones and your body may change forever. Maybe your body has changed and your breasts hurt becasue your AF is on the way, even though you never had that happen before. Maybe you could give a quick call to a lactation consultant and see if they've heard of your symptoms.

Hi Andilyn,

I have not had this sensation but have heard of tubal ligations not being fully successful. You may want to test just to make sure.

Hope it comes out the way you want it to.

Let us know.

Hey Jen,

Well, I took a test, and my husband and I both see an incredibly faint line. Uhhgg! So I have to have blood work done today to see what that says and go from there. I am freaking out, but trying to remain calm until I see what happens next. I had my tubes tied in August, and now this!!! I totally trust my dr, and think she is a great dr and all, but what the heck, why is this happening to me??????? So after my appt I'll let you know what's going on.

Well here's the latest. I decided to wait until tomorrow (Friday) to see if my period starts, cause it's due tomorrow. The weather was kind of crappy earlier this week, and to go to the hospital to do a blood test would have meant dragging my 5 month old and 2 year old out, and I wanted to avoid that if at all possible. I feel slightly crampy today, which hopefully means my period is on it's way, however, I felt that way with my last two pregnancies. I swore that I wasn't pregnant, cause I "felt like my period was on it's way". And my boobs are still really bothering me, they hurt and have gotten bigger, and are tingling. So we will see. I am pretty much on time with my AF, so if nothing happens by Saturday, then I am going to test again, and then call the dr Monday for the blood test. I'll let you guys know!
