View Full Version : Problems with diapers..

For the last few weeks, ds has preferred to sleep on his side. Since that time, he has been waking up wet on the side he slept on. The diapers we use are Pampers Cruisers, size 3. I think that the pee is just coming right up his belly, and out of the diaper. I have tried switching diapers, and nothing is working. The diapers aren't even soaked when I change him, so I know it can absorb more, has anyone had this problem?

Could it just be the direction his little....parts are facing? A friend of mine who had boys always told me to make sure the hose is facing down in the diaper and that helps fix alot of leaks. So far DS has only had a couple, mostly when he's had a pretty full diaper.

Happens alot with little boys. DS has it almost every lately. He wakes up with a wet spot and a barely wet diaper. Try going up one size. A friend of mine with a little boy swears it works. The minute he starts wetting out she switches sizes. Also make sure things are headed down when you diaper them.

Just went through this with DS. He sleeps on his stomach and every morning he was wet out of the top of the diaper. I tried every different brand, size, even diaper doublers. Finally I bought some pull ups and put it on over his diaper and that seems to keep the wetness in. The elastic top seems to help.

i personally noticed that huggies leak more than pampers. ds came home with huggies premie diapers and leaked everysingle night, sometimes with every diaper change. I switched to pampers swaddlers and no more leaks. i also tried using the toy's r us brand, especially for baby. works the same way as the swaddlers, but much cheaper.

Point his peins down when you change him.

I agree with 2fast go up a size. I always would size up when DS would start to leak through and it stops. I had to point down his penis when he was newborn but haven't since as long as the diaper covers a big area. Oh and we use the cruisers DS leaked or was allergic to everything else so far.

Thanks for all of the advice. I will try the pull ups, and going up a size, and I just bought a huge box of 3's....ugh! Pointing him down isn't the problem, because since he is so big (20lbs), his pee-pee has fat coming around it, so it look like he has no penis, how embarassing!!!! It drives my husband crazy!!
