HI,
I'm sure many of you a internet researchers like I am, but I'm stumped with this. For the past year and a half I have suffered from anxiety every morning, but only in the morning and gone by afternoon. It hits at about 6:00, wakes me up and continues through mid day. I take 2mg xanax and that only takes the edge off....anxiety is still there. It slowly reduces and then is just gone. It has nothing to do with day to day happenings....same no matter what. I have had three crappy years, three major operations and a total knee replacement up on December 16th. I'm guessing hormonal imbalances but I've tried many variations of my thyroid meds and added supplements and the anxiety remains. It's so irritating and would love to get it under control before the next operations. Any guesses, thoughts?
Thanks,
b

a sleep disorder such as sleep apnea can stop you getting a good nights sleep and make you feel bad in the morning
it may be depression, sufferers are often at their worst on waking

I am wondering if maybe you just wake up worried, that happens to me my anxiety is horrendous in the morning just thinking about my stressful life. sometimes this worrying becomes a habit at least it has for me.

I find my anxiety is worse in the morning when i first get up. I have about 3 minutes when i first wake and feel ok, then as reality creeps in i start to feel anxious.
Once ive eaten, had a bath etc it seems to ease off a little.
I have an 11 months old child and sometimes its such an effort to get her ready and go about everyday life.
I think its because ive been happily asleep (generally anxiety free) then have to face another anxiety filled day.
Maybe its this seratonin thing that dips in the morning, who knows, but mornings arent too good for me either.

hi linda i understand you totally I have 2 small ones and boy it so hard! i am so glad my 5yr old is in school now but the 3 yr old gives me a bunch of stress, its tough we also run a usness form home so its double stress dealing with cstomers/kids so i think I will have to stay on xanax permanently

Thanks for the replies. I would agree but the anxiety doesn't seem tied to "things" that happen and they are so like clockwork....morning anxious, afternoon, evening nothing. It seems so physical more than emotional. I just wish I knew what else to try.
Thanks again,
Barbara
