can anxiety cause memory loss?.. i have a problem remembering things.. thanks

I don't know if it can cause it but i would have to say yes because before i had anxiety i had the best memory. I was so good at taking tests in school and everything because it didn't take much for me to remember something and now when i started my job i must have asked the same question a hundred times. I do think it does something to your memory.

my guess on this subject is that it isnt actually making you lose your memory or causing any long term damage.. it is just that people that are anxious are so preoccupied with their own thoughts/worries that any new information isnt sticking.. i know when i am anxious i cant remember anything.. but when i am calm i can take in the new info and remember it like normal..
