Hi Scott, I'm not sure necessarily if it can "cause" an auto-immune disorder. Most of the time "most" people already have it but it may just be there but, not in a high status. Might be a question for your doctor.
In my case & in other cases I've heard about surgery can make an auto-immune disease symptoms worsen or cause a flare up. I just didn't heal after surgery as quickly as I should of - scars were very very slow to heal & my symptoms overall worsened & didn't let up.
Hope that helps,
Suni

What exactly is the auto immune disorder of which you speak? I developed CFIDS (an immune system disorder) while in the hospital recueperating from gall bladder surgery. The symptoms actually developed after the surgery and continued for 9 months. This prolonged symptomology is often the case with CFIDS and one means by which it is accurately diagnosed.
