Hi everyone! Ive never posted on the eye board before, but Ive been having a problem with my right eye for about 3 weeks now. It started with a feeling that something was in my eye, but I coudnt get it out. I started doing an eyewash about twice a day, but could never get the feeling that something was in my eye to go away. I couldnt see like an eyelash or anything it in also. So after a few days of that, I started developing a sensitivity to light. It gets so bad, that sometimes just the light that comes through my eyelid when my eye is shut burns. I stopped wearing contacts but it didnt make it better. So now its 3 weeks later, my right eye is swollen, sometimes blurred vision, light sensitive and very bloodshot. Im still doing eyewashes, and some drops to reduce the redness. A very weird thing, is that it seems to be the worst at night. Any suggestions on what is wrong? Thank you all very much!

I should also add...Ive had pinkeye a few times before, yrs ago. Im fairly certain that what is going on now isnt pink eye. When I did have pinkeye, I experienced a lot of "goopiness" for a lack of better word. Nothing like that is going on now. Thanks in advance

You should see an opthalmologist since the problem has lasted for 3 weeks. There are other infections that can affect the eye & some are serious. I don't mean to scare you, but it's important to get it checked. Also, please stop using the drops to get rid of the redness, as they can create even more problems.
If you have an infection, you will need treatment that only a doctor can prescribe.
Please see if you can get checked as soon as possible.
And good luck too. Hopefully nothing serious and can be treated easily.

And if it's inflammation, you'll need steroid drops which are completely different from antibiotic drops for an infection, so do what Hellas says.
