Hello all,

I have been reading this site for the past 3 years, it helped me lose 40 pounds of fat, start a great workout routine and change my diet for the better.

I have spent the last 6 months planning for a wedding, buying a house, etc. and I haven't been able to spend as much time working out as I once did. I have actually only been able to work out 2 or 3 times per week.

After my honeymoon, (mid december), I plan on hitting it as hard as ever. My question is, what is the best workout to jump into at this point? I've gained about 15 pounds, but some muscle from weight training. Do I need to focus on cardio more at the beginning or weight training?

To get the most out of your weight training I would always suggest doing your weights before any cardio. You may also lose a little bit more fat if you cardio after weights.
If you goal regarding weight training is to gain as much lean muscle mass as possible I wouldn’t increase your weight training past 3 to 4 times a week. Also weight training should always be gradual and step by step. I would advise against suddenly cranking up the weight training. Any increases should be done slowly over a period of months.

If you aim is only weight loss increasing your cardio training and focusing on your diet will get you the fastest results and focusing slowly improving your strength training program without increasing the number of sessions per week.
