Just tonight i bathed my 11month dd and her bottom was ok, an hour or so later she was really cranky. I changed her nappy (she'd poo'd) and her bottom front and back where red raw, she screaming like hell as i cleaned her.
I applied LOADS of sudacrem. She hasnt eaten/drank anything different, and im concerned how within the space of an hour she could get this sore.
Any ideas?

It can happen easily if the poop was more like diarhea, think about it, when you have it, does it not burn you, ya know lol, and then of course if you didn't get it right away and it sits there for a little, even 10 minutes can make it happen. It happened to my dd when she was a baby also, just keep it lathered with diaper cream and instead of using the wipes which has alcohol in it, use a soft paper towel with water instead, this way it won't burn her. It happens, just keep care of it. good luck

I will run warm water in a sink then rise my baby's bum under it then let it air dry and put on A&D ointment. Her rashes are usually gone by the next day. Sometimes if they are teething they produce an enzyme in their saliva to help the teeth cut that can make their bm's more acidic resulting in a rash too.

Thanks for your replies.
the rash got so bad (open weeping sores) i took her to the docs. Turns out its developed into a type of fungal infection ( i feel truly awful).
anyway, theyve given me some hydrocortisone cream which seems to be helping.
ps shes just cut 4 back teeth - bless.
Thanks again
