Hi,

I've been having some serious problems for a little over four months now (some symptoms for longer than that). E.g. abdominal, hip, back, and pelvic pain, nausea, disorientation, depression, suicide problems, balance problems, urination problems, breathing difficulties, sleeping difficulties, lack of appetite, general achiness, weakness, dizziness, eye-sight problems, focus problems, paranoia, and several more.

I also have been positively diagnosed with TMJ, ibs, asthma, depression, OCD, ADD, and have thyroid problems (also currently being diagnosed for possible endometriosis)...if that helps at all.

Well over 3/4 of the symptoms listed in the posting of symptoms in the top of the Fibromyalgia board match with mine. I don't want to jump to conclusions...so I thought I'd ask what the already diagnosed seek help for it, and how you were diagnosed with it. Also, what kind of symptoms did you have when you were diagnosed???

Thanks so much!

Wow, I never used to believe that other people had as many health problems as I do until I joined this board and started reading what some of you had written.
I, too, have many health problems and have had some since I was just about 5 or 6 years old. Depression, OCD, GAD, ADD. I either have Crohn's ot had Colitis. Drs. say Crohn's but since I've not had any gut problems since my colon was removed I say Colitis. Anyway, I too have many problems, arthgritis is one of them but when I was dignosed the biggest, worst pain I had was in my right arm and shoulder. I never thought of fibro even though my Mama has it. The dr. asked some questions, took some blood to rule out RA and Lupus and pushed on different parts of my body and asked if that hurt each time he'd push. I had many places to hurt that I didn't even realize it until he pushed on them
Anyway I was just having soo much pain in my arm and shoulder that I was desparte to find someone who could do something for it. Mydr. sent me to a bone dr. who said nope, wasn't a bone problem then I asked my dr. to send me to any kind of dr. who might could help. I had said s[ports dr. bone dr. or even a voodoo dr would be fine, so after the bone dr. said it wasn't bone related he sent me to an arthritis dr. I am so glad he did. The arthritis dr. isn't afraid to prescribe pain meds like I need them and that helps so much.
Oh, if it's decided that you have endometriosis, ask about depo provera shots. I used to have the worst pains with and around my period I'd just stay in bed with the heating pad. Poor DH would have to either pick up fast food for his dinner or just open a can of something because even just trying to do a few things hurt bad enough to not do them. I had to have an ovary and tube taken out in 1997 and was then put on depo, after a while I went off it, I forget why right now, anyway, my perids came back but the awful pain didn't. I'm now off the depo again, my hormones were getting weird and so far no bad pain. If you get on the depo make sure you take calcium it can deplete your bone mass to some degree.
