Hi, I am going to visit my Mom and Dad and also my sister and husband in Arizona this week. I was wondering a couple things. What to expect at the airport with security, etc and my testing supplies. Also I haven't been there in a few years but sometimes my allergies kick up (around their cats). I was wondering if Alavert is ok to take. I am on Metformin. Thanks for the help in advance.

OTC meds are ok to take and need no special instructions. Script meds need to be kept all in one location, for convenience and searching, and should be in their original container. This container should have all of your information on it. I know with insulin, you cant just take the vial, you have to take the outside box with all of your info on it.
You should also get a letter from your Dr letting them know the script meds that you are on and that they are a necessity. Good luck and have fun

I've travelled all over north america with my insulin and glucose stuff and I've never had a problem. When I go through security I usually just mention that I have diabetic supplies in my bags. I've only had them looked over once and they weren't even in their original boxes. I do carry a letter from my doctor explaining that I have diabetes and listing all the supplies that I need with me. Just remember to have your supplies with you at all times!!!! Don't put them in your checked baggage and always carry extra.
