I guess this board would be the best place to post this... Ive had TMJ since a whiplash type injury several years ago. Since then my jaw had been popping lots, got a dentist splint about a year ago and has helped a lot with the popping, but I still have this very bad pain at the very back of my jaw in the bottom corner and into the bottom of my ear. Often the pain radiates into my ear, and my neck is stiff on that side and can't move it with a full range of motion. I have seen an ear nose and throat specialist and my ears are fine... except a slight hearing loss in the ear on my sore side. Been doing a lot of reading on the internet, and I think it may be ernest syndrome based on where the pain is. Now there isn't a whole lot of info on the internet on ernest syndrome and I was just wondering how is this diagnosed? Can it be diagnosed through an x-ray or will I need an MRI? The wait time for an MRI is loooong.

Also Ive been told by both my family doctor and the ENT specialist that TMJ does not cause dizziness... I was just wondering what you veterans think of this because many places on the web state that it can, I don't know what to believe. I am horribly dizzy and I really feel it is coming from the pain and pressure behind my jaw/ear area.
