I also posted on the menopause site, but am hoping that someone can give me some insight to Prometrium, a natural progesterone in capsule form.
My Dr. took me off transdermal compounded progesterone and wants me to try this for a while. She said it will relly help me with my low energy, lack of sleep, and moods.

I have been on 1oo mg. of prometrium for three days now. I take it before I go to sleep and it does seem to help me sleep better. But I am concerned about side effects. A friend had a terrble time with it. Today I have been feeling off and wondering if it could be the prometrium.
Has anyone taken it or takes it or knows about it. Side effects? Does it cause weight gain? Achiness?
I hope someone can shed somelight on this for me. Thanks.

No clue! It sounds like part of a natural hormone therapy which I think would be good for you. Better than synthetic hormones. I am going for my first appointment in 2 weeks for bioidentical hormones so I'm just learning. I would google the name of the pill he gave you. I've heard that pill forms do not absorb as well in you system as well as creams but then again Suzanne Somers who is a big advocate of natural hormone therapy takes it in pill form.
