Hello everyone,
I am have not been officialy Dx'ed with MS. it pretty much all started this past summer. I had some pins and needles sensation in my butt and then it slowly travelled down through the legs until there was no feeling hardly at all. I had a hard time moving my legs but was stil able to walk.....slowly. Then complete urinary retention. I let it go way too long (1800 cc too long) and had to have a catheter put in for several weeks. I get terrible pain in my knees and hips, mostly at night. I had a couple of confusion, demensia?? moments. I saw the Neurologist a couple of days after beeing in the Hospital getting the catheter put in. He did a few tests there Potentials, EMG. and then a lumbar/thorasic MRI and then a brain MRI a couple weeks after that. It showed that there are three conciderably large lesions on my spine, with a compressed disk at the L4 and L5 vertebrae. And the brain showed five smaller lesions on the brain.
My Question is....... Could a compressed disk cause all of these symptoms? The lesions could be caused by inflamation? Did anyone else have similar symptoms?
I am going to be seeing my neurologist in Jan and he wants me to repeat MRI's. He is suspecting MS but I am hoping it is the compressed disk..Hmmm???What to think, the anxiety is killing me. Thank you so much for reading this ans any infut from you would be greatly appreciated...

Hi Shelly,
Both the compressed discs and the spine/brain lesions either together OR separately could be causing all these symptoms...
I hope you start feeling better. Has your doc given you any steroids or other meds yet? I would press for something in the intermin of waiting for a DX.
