Did you take at least 21 active pills in a row before taking the week off?
Did you go more then seven days without taking an active pill?
So long as you took at LEAST 21 active pills before taking a break and went no longer then a week without an active pill, then you are fine, and your efficiency was not lowered.
You must always take at least 21 active pills in a row, go no longer then seven days without an active pill, and take pills on time and with no interfering substances in order to have the highest possible rate of efficiency.

If I were you, and pregnancy would be a disaster, I'd use condoms or another barrier method for at least a week just to be sure.

There is no need for this at all. She did not raise her risk of pregnancy at all, as she took more then 21 active pills in a row, and went no more then seven days without taking an active pill. Thus, provided she took her pills on time, without interfering substances, and without throwing up after taking them, her effectiveness would have remained as high as it can be (99.9% for perfect use as I described).
