Hi everyone..

I am in pain because my teeth are bad. I just love how this happens on a holiday weekend. I have an appt. on Wed. with my dentist to hopefully fix this problem. They are gone till then!!! This is not good at all...

I have 3-4 teeth that are bothering me, one in particular. It was the few weeks to where I would wake up and they would be sensitive. This would go away within an hour or so after waking up.

Now since yesterday night one of my bad top molars, is throbbing all day long. I have been taking Vicodin 5/500mg for my back pain, but it's not helping with my tooth pain.. Is this normal for pain pills not to work on teeth? does anyone have any idea what I can do?? Or what I can take with the Vicodin?

This is really terrible.. I wish I would have handled this earlier.. I guess if it gets bad can I go to an ER?? I have been taking a Z-pack antibiotics (Zithromax) but it hasn't helped, today is my 4th day of the drug. What can I do??? Do I need Pennecillin VK ??

Thanks..

Hottrodd

I read that you can mix one drop of clove oil in a spoonfull of safflower oil and rub into teeth and gums with a q-tip to ease pain. I am about to try it myself...as soon as I can run up to the health food store. I am in a similar situation!!! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/frown.gif

When I had my wisdom teeth out and ran out of prescription pain meds, my oral surgeon advised me to take 4 Motrins (800 mg total). It worked like a charm. I can't say whether or not that would be appropriate for you, however, so try it at your own risk.

I'm sorry you're in pain! I've been there many times. I even had to have an emergency root canal on my wedding day!

When I had a bad tooth nothing would touch it. It is so misreble it just makes your whole head and face hurt. I hope you can get some relief real soon I know what you are going through. I would call dentist office when they are open again and tell them you can't take it anymore.

Best of luck

Thanks Everyone http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wave.gif

I appreciate your replies and advice. I am feeling tolerable for right now. The pain seems to have went down for now, probably due to the antibiotics (Z-Pack) I have been taking. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/t_up.gif

I hope it holds up till the dentist office opens back up..

Hi hottrodd:
I would call your dentist's answering service. Someone should reply to your call. I hope that you are feeling better. I had to call the dentist over a weekend once and he never returned the call; they told me the following Monday that he had just gotten a new pager and erased the number accidentally. Maybe you will have better luck.
