Hi All:

I was told that I had a open bite nearly 10 years ago. Because my mom was afraid of surgery, she opted to have an orthodontist work on my open bite. He closed it a bit but I still have 2-3 mm open. A few dentists & oral surgeons noticed that my teeth are quite worn down and suggested that I get orthodontic treatment and orthognatic (spelling?) surgery. Has anyone undergone this treatment? If so, did you have TMJ-like symptoms prior to your treatment (I am currently experiencing jaw joint pain, localized headaches, and swelling of lymph node ). Also, how much did it cost? Did you have any complications afterwards? Please PLEASE respond if you have any feedback. Thanks!
