i think my body's reaction to depo was abnormal and i'm a little worried about it. i started on it at 16 and just quit taking it a year ago at 21. i heard about the normal side effects such as gaining weight, never ending bleeding and all that. but when i started it i lost 30 pounds, i stopped bleeding almost immediately and never had any problems with it. it wasn't until i stopped taking it. over this last year, i gained 40 pounds so fast that my skin stretched. i have a vaginal infection that won't go away now (as posted in another thread). i know my cycle should be out of whack, but in the last 6 months it went from every 6 weeks, to every 2 weeks now. i am worried that i really screwed myself up by taking it. any thoughts?

Hi,

I had the kinda of the same problem for a while. I was on Depo for about 1year and 4 months. During that time my period stopped and i losted a lot of weight in 2 months. After i stopped Depo my period returned right after and it was out of wack for a while. I would have it for a week and then a week break and then started up again. That went on for a couple of months and then it would strech further out. I have been off of Depo for about 9 months now and my periods are reg. now. Since you said that you did stop taking it a year ago i would suggest seeing a specialist, like a Endo specialist. Good luck
