What happens if you take 2 pills in one day on accident in the first week of active pills? I know it is okay if you take 2 pills in one day if you have forgotten to take a pill the day prior, but this is without missing a pill.
Do you lose effectiveness anytime throughout cycle?

Effectiveness should be fine, as long as you start your next pack after 7 days off (a day earlier than normal) and as long as you take you pill correctly for the rest of the pack.
