 I wanted to check in to see how everyone is doing.Kiera has two teeth and is trying to sit up. She can for a few seconds until she grabs her feet and folds in half or tips. She only has eyes for DH and humor for DS. Liam makes her chuckle so loud. She is still only really rolling from back to front. She has rolled the other way in her crib a few times but generally screams to be flipped over when she gets bored.Kiera is doing ok with her cereal (oatmeal) and has tried apple sauce .After half a bowl or so she will get the hang of it. She has a strong tongue reflex and it's always hanging out of her mouth. I saw a little cabbage patch doll with her little tongue hanging out and no teeth so I bought it for christmas even if it was more for me.She woke up this morning with a runny nose  she just dried up from her teeth a few days ago.

Justin is doing great! He get's funner and funner every day. No teeth yet, but he is teething....some days it bothers him some days he's fine. He went to see Santa last week. He was all dressed up in his little vest and tie! He was adorable. Right before they took the picture their camera broke, so Justin sat on Santa's lap for about 15 minutes while they tried to fix it. Everyone walking by was waving and smiling to them....Justin thought it was Great!
As far as food goes, we have had; Green Beans, Carrots,Bananas,Sweet potatoes,Apples,Pears, and today we started peaches, in three days we'll try squash. SO far he LOVES everything!! He get's mad if I feed him too slow :D
He's learned that if he see's a toy he wants he can roll across the room to get it. He can sit for only a few seconds but likes trying.
He loves to laugh. Me and my husband must be the funniest people on earth! lol It's great that we can just be silly with him.
He's just started to give kisses! And if you ask him he'll plant a slobbery one on ya!
6 month appt. is on the 17th....I'm looking forward to seeing how much he's grown. He's the skinnest little thing, but he's tall!

Karen, how is your baby doing with all of the new foods? DD will be 6 months on the 14th so I have been holding off except for the applesauce and a touch of juice but I think she may be ready. She will reach for our food and watch up eat and I feel bad.
She was so sweet today laughing all day at everything despite her stuffy nose. I would like to know how big he is too. Kiera weighed 16 lb 6 oz and was 24 1/2 inches 75th weight and 25th height just the way I like her compact and squishy.:)

Karen, how is your baby doing with all of the new foods?
He's doing great. I space evey new food three days apart. So far he's loved everything he's tried. I don't give him enough that it interferes with his formula intake though. He still get's the same amount of formula he always did.

Hi Everyone. My son will be 5 months of the 5th. He's a BIG boy. He was 27" tall and 19 lbs. three weeks ago. Dr. said he is off the charts on weight and height. I've been giving him a couple of scoops of either rice or oatmeal every morning and night
since around 3.5 mths. Just this week I added a carrot and sweat peas as a third meal during the day. He's been drinking 6 oz. of formula every 3 hrs for about
2 months now. I haven't increased the amount since I started cereal. Sometimes
he'll only drink 5 oz. He does spit up ALOT. He actually smiles while spitting up. His doctor said he's fine and that some babies just spit up alot. We go through a couple of outfits a day and lots of bibs. How much are your babies eating now? Christian can roll over both ways and sat up in his crib yesterday for a few minutes by himself for the first time. He's getting so big so fast. He's doesn't even need me to hold his bottle anymore. Lynn
Oh yeah he doesn't have teeth yet. Just a lot of drooling and gnawing on his fingers.

DS will be 6 months in 7 days. He weighs 20lbs. He has his 2 bottom teeth and does not want anyone to see them. If he knows you are going to try to peek in he clamps his mouth shut. He has started baby food, and so far we have had peas, carrots, squash, sweet potatos, bananas, peaches, and applesauce. He hates peas and carrots, he wil either gag or cry when I try to feed him these foods. He would prefer we gave him what we are eating but I won't let him have it. Last night he was crying in his high chair because he wanted my food. I put him on my lap and he ripped my pizza out of my hands. So I gave him a peice of crust and he loved it. I also let him have bagels. He doesn't get much but he loves the idea. He can roll over either way but absolutely refuses to be left on the floor. Whether I lay him on his back or stomach he will roll over, while screaming at me for putting him down there. He can sit on his own if and when he wants too. His most recent favorite is arching his back, so I can't leave him sitting some where because he may get hurt. He loves his johnny-jump-up and his favortie place to play is sitting on the couch with all his toys on his lap. So I have to stay right there just in case.

My little guy is 5 1/2 months old now. He's doing great. And he's so much fun. He has quite the personality going on. He's a huge flirt, and loves his hands still, but is getting into toys and books a little. He loves sitting in his walker, he thinks he's big stuff when he's in it. He's eating a lot of solids now, and there hasn't been one yet that he doesn't like. He absolutely loves the mixed cereal with applesauce and banana's in a jar. Can't feed him fast enough. And he is for the most part sleeping through the night now...yea!!! And his two bottom teeth are popping through now too.

shelliam - DS gets water in a regular cup. We use a smaller cup not a really tall glass. And it is going great. He loves it and thinks it is the greatest thing. He trys to drink out of anything the resembles a cup. He does spill a little but we hold the cup and try to control how much goes in his mouth. As long as we put in just the right amount he doesn't spill any out. In the beginning he sipped but now we can hold it there and he will drink like an adult. However, he doesn't understand that he needs to come up for air. We stop him and he gets mad. We went to babies-r-us and found these great cups which we use now. They are like drinking out of a regular cup but they are spill proof. They aren't sippy cups but are made to be like regular cups, you drink for them the same way. We tried a sippy cup once or twice and DS just sits with it in his mouth and does nothing. I think we are going to forget sippy cups and go with the ones we found at babies-r-us.

DD is doing well too. When DS was very small I gave him milk from the bowl of cereal and I would slurp it to be funny. Now he chokes becauses he inhales when drinking from anything thats not a sippy or straw.I went out tonight and bought DD squash, green beans and sweet potatoes since everything went well with the applesauce for the past week.
ADILYN, I used to complain all the time about not getting good sleep and now my 5 1/2 month old sleeps better than my 2 year old lol. It's going to be all the time before you know it and lack of sleep will be a memory. DD sleeps from 9-830AM & I love it DS is going through the jack in the box phase where he gets out of bed for everything like diaper changes, drinks of water and everything else he can think of. His bedtime has ended up at 10:00 some nights and I feel like I am on supernanny (the before part).

She did it! She is a true roller now :) She has also started babbling in the past few days and making a high pitched screeching noice with a satisfied look on her face. My close friend had her DD 3 weeks earlier and she is already starting to crawl!! I told her to stop growing so fast she was hurting mommy's feelings.

Hi guys! Sounds like everyone is doing great. DS will be 6 months in four days! i can hardly believe it. He is only 14lbs and 6oz though. But he is sooo long, already in 9 months lengths. Dr will probably fuss at us (she is a meanie!) cause he hasn't doubled his birth weight (7 15 1/2) we did have a lot of trouble at first, he was down to 7 after he had been home a week. But he eats and eats and eats, lol. He has cereal with a fruit in the morning, and then something for lunch, he loves peas! He likes the orange foods, but we are staying away from them for now, because he (and I) are still kind of messy at the feeding thing and they stain his skin We have been messing with the sippy cup, but I only have one and it leaks so he doesn't drink from it. But DH let him drink from my water bottle and everyonce and a while from a cup. He always wants what we are eating. We went on a trip and I was on the hotel bed eating a cheese sandwich and he was lying beside me. I turned over to get my drink and turned back and my cheese sandwich was about a millimeter from his mouth, lol. He has two teeth, and alot more coming in.
He has been rolling for a long time, and can scoot backwards now, and is sooo close to crawling. He can sit up by himself, but he doesn't want to, he wants to be where he can move!
Have any of your babies said anything yet? DS babbles and growls and tries so hard but so far nothing has come out!

DD sound like she is saying things like dada but I think right now it's coincidental. I have a 2 year old who is a non stop talker and has been since 12 months no one can get a word in edgewise lol.
2fast4u
12-13-2005, 10:49 AM
DS is saying DaDa and I am pretty sure he means it. He will say it until DH comes to him. He also says goalie, goalie, goalie and we are pretty sure it means I love you. If we look at him and say I love you he says goalie, goalie, goalie back. He also will look directly at people he knows, his aunts and grandma, and say it. Also he is doing patti-cake. But on the other hand he can be doing real good with these things and he can sit but he will never crawl. At least not anytime soon. He refuses to be on his stomach. If he is sitting he will try to reach foward and will sort of try to wiggle his body foward to reach a toy but if he does too much reaching and falls on his stomach, he lays there and freaks out. Even if it just put the toy he was going for right in his hands.

I had to laugh at what Shelliam said, my 2 1/2 year old talks non-stop as well, and therefore, like you said, no one can get a word in. My little man will be 6 months in 10 days, man, where did the time go? He talks alot, no actual words so far, but he certainly knows he has a voice, and that he can use it to get our attention, lol. And his bottom teeth are through now, and he's working on getting more in. He's being a real trooper about it though, cause I know it hurts him. Hope everyone continues to do well.

Justin will be 6 months in exactly 2 weeks. Yesterday he sat up by himself for about 3 minutes. He was so proud of himself. We have been practicing sitting for some time and he's finally getting the hang of it! I hope he's a full blown sitter by Christmas!
He too talks like crazy. He screams as loud as he can and then laughs at him self. No real words yet...at least none I can understand.
Were still waiting for the 1st tooth to appear. His Well Baby Visit is on the 17th. I can't wait to see how big he is. I will post his stats when I get them.
Glad to hear everyone is doing well. I hear some of you up north are dealing with pretty cold temps. We're in Florida, so we don't have to deal with that. Stay warm and safe all!!

laughs while spitting up. It looks wierd to see him so happy with spit-up
pouring out of his mouth. He's 5 months now. I hope it stops soon.

We went to the Dr yesterday for 6month visit. The nurse told us that at 6 months most babies start spitting up more. Because they are moving more, eating more at a time.
Our visit didnt' go well, our dr is an old meany! DS weighs about 14lbs, but he is 27 inches long, so he is growing. She is upset cause he doesn't weigh enough and wants me to force feed him an extra jar of baby food a day! And of course she talked to me like all of this was only me and my responsibility, not DH's. Grrr. DS moves, constantly, even in his sleep. She says, I think he will be walking much earlier than other babies, and that is a bad thing, I dont' want to see that! How crazy is that! My dad said we would have to chain him to somethning to keep him from walking! I just told her that I would much rather have a long skinny baby, cause then he wouldnt' have to lose the fat later! so then i asked her about juice and she said no, so i asked when we could start juice and she asked me why i was so fixed on juice! and then went off on a tirade that we have too many choices in the US! I can't stand her but DH worked with her for awhile and he loves her so...
Anyway, DS got six shots including his flu shot, so he was cranky yesterday and today, poor thing.

OMG!! I couldn't even imagine this. My Dr. came in and gave DS a hug and asked how his potty training was going and it wasn't even about him. There is no bedside manner there. If your baby want to walk early so be it what are you supposed to do hold him down?
Anyway DD's spitting up never really slowed down. If she rolls on her tummy she will automaticly s/u then if she stays there she could lose half a feeding easy. Poor baby has spent most of her life between 30-45 degree angle:( .I really hope this can help her.

I'm sorry about your Dr, cattieos. With our DD, we had a horrible dr. He was such a jerk. Needless to say, we switched dr's. And now our 6 month old DS see's the same dr, and she's awesome. We like her so much. In fact, my DD's old dr came to see me and my DS in the hospital, and he did his circumcision, and then I asked him to leave after that, and asked the nurses to not allow him to see me anymore, that's how bad he is.

Hi All,
Justin had his 6 month WBV this morning. He's 15lbs. 11oz. and 27 inches. We got the okay to start stage 2 foods, and juice in a sippy cup! That should be interesting. Poor little guy had 5 shots, including the Flu shot. The doctor said he's doing great!
Are anyone's little ones crawling yet? Justin really wants to, and gets so frustrated when a toy is out of reach. He's starting to scoot now "Army Crawl" to get to something. He's getting the hang of sitting too!
Hope all your little ones are doing good!!!

I am having a hard time believing they are six months old too! I told someone DS was four months old the other day, cause it just seemed impossible it had been six months, lol.
When I went to get Michael out of his crib this morning he was up on his hands and knees, and just grinning. He didnt' stay that way long, he wobbled and fell down and he got so mad. He can sit up really well, and is so close to crawling, but I have a feeling he might skip crawling, he can scoot and roll where he wants to go. Today I stood him up in his crib, and let him hold onto the rail, with my hands next to him, but not holding him, and he stayed up for about three minutes.
That is so great that Justin said Momma!
DS says it sometimes, but it is just babbling, it doesn't mean anything.
