My family doctor says I have GERD based on my symptoms but I'm scheduled for an endoscopy to make sure thats all it is. For those that have GERD, what are your symptoms? I don't have much heartburn. Its more of a constant burning between my sternum and belly button like right in the middle of my upper abdomen. The burning only goes away when I eat or take an antacid. I am currently on nexium. I believe its an ulcer, but I'll just have to wait and see when I get my test done. Also, I have had this weird feeling under my rib cage on the right side. It feels like a squeezing sensation. Anyone else ever had this? Could it just be a muscle spasm or something of that sort?

Yeah that sounds like GERD. Also the feeling around your rib cage could be a hiatal hernia. I have both and it can be very annoying. Get your endo and the doctor will probably prescribe PPI's. Nexium, Protonix, etc.
